Hello! Does anyone know if it's possible to connect Microsoft Fabric to GD please? I can see Synapse SQL and Azure SQL on the list, but I'm unsure if these can be used for Fabric specifically?

Hi Gemma, at this time we don’t currently directly connect to Microsoft Fabric, but I found the following documentation the dbt adapter for Synapse Data Warehouse in Microsoft Fabric, that you might find useful. This data platform-specific adapter plugin allows you to connect and transform data into Synapse Data Warehouse in Microsoft Fabric. https://blog.fabric.microsoft.com/en-US/blog/introducing-the-dbt-adapter-for-synapse-data-warehouse-in-microsoft-fabric/

Thank you for this - appreciate the time you took to investigate it, and let me know πŸ˜„

Interesting topic! It is possible to connect to Fabric with JDBC: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/data-warehouse/connectivity#connect-using-jdbc However, the same web page states:
SQL Authentication is not supported.
The advice from @Michael Ullock is correct. Let me ask my peers in Microsoft what is possible now and what are their plans for the future...

It should work but "but you need to have Azure AD account basically". Do you have such account having access to your Fabric workspace?

At the moment we are just looking at feasibility of different tool match ups, and working out whether it's indeed possible to use it with Fabric. It would be with Azure AD though. Thanks for looking at it!

You are welcome. I am still not 100% sure that the integration between GoodData and Fabric will fully work. However, I am pretty sure that we can fix it very quickly if anything does not work - the integration should be very similar to Synapse.

Thank you - I really do appreciate the time you've taken looking into it πŸ˜„
