Hello everyone, We encountered an issue with one of our scheduled exports, and I’m trying to determine the root cause. The export returned the following error message (in thread) Here’s what we've identified so far: • The dashboard that triggered the export. • The specific insight that the error is referencing. However, I don’t understand what about this insight caused the issue. Based on the error message, it appears to be related to dimensionality (Invalid dimensionality of offsets: '1'. Should be '2'), but it’s not clear which part of the configuration (e.g., filters, dimensions, measures, or export parameters) is causing the problem. Can you provide more detailed information about this error using the traceId (

)?
Error Message:

Hello Ian, Sorry to hear about your troubles. May I know how did you create this schedule, please? From UI or via API? You've mentioned that you've identified the Dashboard and Insight in question. Is it possible that this Insight is a tabular one and it contains only some Attributes and no Metric, or it contains only a single Metric and no Attributes?
i
It was created in the UI. The Insight is a Table. It has 3 Attributes added as rows with a single attribute filter. No metric. The insight is configured to allow the Dashboard Date Range filter to apply. The Scheduled Export to
xlsx
is 'using edited dashboard filters'. Does a report require at least 1 or more Metrics?
i
Thanks a lot for all the details, appreciated. No, it shouldn't be one of requirements really. Unfortunately, I remember a case with failing Insight, were there were just attributes with no metric or just a metric and no slicers. I will reach out to our engineers and let them know that issue has reoccured. Once again, I am sorry for the inconvenience. As a quick workaround, you can add a simple metric to the Insight if it makes sense(Basic Count for example), but I'll surely try my best to get this fixed on our end.
i
Okay thank you - I'll try that work-around and see if anything changes. Separate question related to Scheduled Exports: Is a User required to accept the invitation to GoodData before they can receive an email with a report?
i
Thanks a lot for giving a try. Currently yes, recipient needs to be a member of the workspace firstly. However, we are planning to allow external recipients of schedules soon as well. You can subscribe to our Product news to get notified about the next release.
i
I tried the work around and it seems to have worked looks like this bug is back
i
Thank you for the confirmation, I am already in touch with our engineers and they are working on the fix.

Awesome - is the #C01M7S4NQAD or Product News where I would see a mention of this bug when it's fixed? Just wondering how I'll know when it's safe to remove the work-arounds I'm adding for now.
i
I am afraid that minor bugs won't be really mentioned in global updates, but I will surely update this thread once it is done.

@Ivana Gasparekova is there any chance you could tell me if this bug was fixed recently? (also what is the release schedule for GD?) I've been testing this daily since the thread was opened and have just received my first Scheduled Export emails for my testing insight with no metric included. Just curious if this was fixed or maybe a red-herring.

Hi @Ian Bryan, I am really sorry for not getting back to you earlier. I can confirm that our engineers were able to fix the issue. I am really glad that it works correctly now.
