Hey All, Two questions 1. The update for repeaters to allow for using display values is not working. I'm pretty sure that was supposed to have been released? 2. The forecast functionality for line chart keeps throwing us errors a. "Unable to compute forecast. Date dimension has gaps. The algorithm expects continuous dates. Try change forecast settings"
Any recommendations on how to address?
Like that message is useful for us: • not enough data where you need it. • but when someone sees a dashboard with it all we get is the "Sorry, WE CAN"T DISLAY THIS VISUALIZATION" •
Really the issue is, not good data in the window, please pick a different one. But this looks like something is wrong....

Hi Steve, thank you for your questions. 1. Could you please confirm you are speaking about the bug fix mentioned in our release here: https://www.gooddata.com/docs/cloud/whats-new-cloud/#What'sNewinGoodDataCloud?-UpcomingChangeColumnNaminginRepeaterVisualization? I can confirm it is working as expected in my domain, but I would like to look further into this. Could you please provide an example of how it is showing on your workspace? 2. I understand the issue here is how the error is addressed, is that correct? You would like to see the same error in the dashboard as in Analytical Designer when the forecast insight cannot be computed. If so, I will highlight this internally for potential improvements.

For 1 • yes that, • I have a repeater where I want to change the column I'm specifying for hte label and its not updating the repeater. I can provide a link if you like.
Hmm, actually looks like it is working, I was just changing the wrong value.
Rows vs the columns
you can disregard 1

For 2 • the issue is annoying, but just want to have better messaging in the dashboard ◦ one issue is they may not have data where you're looking ◦ Need something better than "oops something went wrong" ◦ Something more like ▪︎ "Its your data not us thats got an issue"
cause guarantee, we will see customers pointing at us and saying: somethings broken. • which is not accurate. Really its -> fix your data
or look somewhere else

I know where you are coming from. While the error message itself advises the user to reach out to a workspace admin since it is assumed that not all users are able to open the insight from Analytical Designer due to permissions, I understand being able to see the error from the dashboard would provide better context as to what is actually wrong. Please let me highlight this internally on your behalf as product feedback. Our developers will be able to determine how to best address this if determined feasible.

🎉 New note created.

lets be clear, the issue here isn't our data or our insight its the workspaces data or what they're looking at range wise. So anything that helps us say • Migh be missing data • adjust your filters • etc. other than "somethings wrong, call support"

Noted, that is clear.
