Hello! One of our customers had a question about data storage. They’d like to know if any of their data is stored outside of Europe. Specifically, we're using the BigQuery integration, so we assume the data stays within the region of the BigQuery dataset. However, we have a small concern regarding the caching mechanism (FlexCache). Could you let us know if GoodData stores a copy of our data anywhere, and if so, which region it’s stored in? And is this information available in the documentation somewhere? Thanks in advance

Hello Simon, it is generally up to the customer where they house the data in their data sources, but as for GoodData itself, you can find all our security measures in place HERE

@Joseph Heun thanks for the answer and the document. My question is whether GoodData stores a copy of our data anywhere (most notably to implement the FlexCache mechanism), and if so in which region. I found this part in the document you sent:
Regional Deployments Data sovereignty is a complex issue that ranges from the technical arena to the regulatory arena and, at times, even the political arena. Understanding the complexities of this issue — and thanks to its standardized blueprint for a data center in a public cloud — GoodData is ready to offer additional data centers in AWS, Inc. worldwide according to the needs of its customers while maintaining our high standards for data security and privacy.
I will ask our account manager in which region our GoodData cloud is hosted (or if you have access to that information easily, it would be very helfpul!) Thanks

You're domain is housed on IAD1, which is located in the US: https://www.gooddata.com/docs/cloud/security-and-compliance/cloud-security-settings/

Great, thanks @Joseph Heun 🙏
any chance you know the procedure to move to the european region? (please do not start this process, we have a pretty big event tomorrow and don't want to risk any downtime or issues) if not, I will ask our account manager. Again, thanks for the help.

That is something you will definitely need to address with your Account Owner
