Hi Good-Data I am a new to good data, i was add my data mart to gooddata, in my bigquery the data type is integer, why i can't sum that data in custom metric. It's validate as character type. Can anyone help me about this?

Hello, could you possibly provide screenshots of what you are seeing when trying to build the metric? Have you correctly loaded data from BQ into GoodData? If you are using GoodData for the first time, we highly recommend to take the free courses at the University Page

This from gooddata, if you see the column "total install daily", it shown as character type. Like varchar maybe.
But if we check on bigquery, it shown as integer
So when it calculated in gooddata, its goes wrong.

You can change the data type in the LDM as mentioned here: https://help.gooddata.com/doc/enterprise/en/data-integration/data-modeling-in-gooddata/update-a-logical-data-model/#UpdateaLogical[…]nattributelabel, Please see the section titled “Change the data type of a fact or an attribute label”

Integer fields may contain categorical information (e.g. some identifier) and should be mapped in logical data model to an “attribute” (icon “abc”) in such case or quantitative information (e.g. some counter) which should be mapped to a “fact” (icon 123) in logical data model. The attributes can be used for breakdowns of metrics and filtering of data. The facts can be aggregated into metrics such as sum of fact. The modeler created attributes for integers but you can convert them into facts. You can create fact and map it to the same database column if you need to use field as attribute as well as fact. See convert between attributes and facts in the following article: https://help.gooddata.com/doc/enterprise/en/data-integration/data-modeling-in-gooddata/update-a-logical-data-model/#UpdateaLogical[…]tsandattributes
