Hi, I have enabled a Fiscal Year on Calendar settings in a workspace. i can see it appear in the date filters when on dashboard as a tab, but not in the specific visualization. is there a way we can use it in the date filter in visualization? when i explore from the dashboard the report is broken

Looking at your screenshots, I can see the date filter in the visualization (Analytical Designer) shows only the Standard tab without a Fiscal tab, while the dashboard date filter does show both tabs. Based on the knowledge sources, the fiscal calendar feature is currently listed as Experimental in GoodData Cloud. The documentation confirms that when both Standard and Fiscal calendars are enabled, users can switch between them using tabs in date filter dialogs. [Customize Calendars] However, the knowledge sources do not explicitly confirm whether the fiscal calendar tab is fully supported in the visualization-level date filter (in Analytical Designer) in the same way it appears on dashboard-level date filters. The fiscal calendar support in the date filter component is noted as an alpha preview API (
IDateFilterOwnProps.activeCalendars
), meaning it may not yet be fully surfaced in all UI contexts. [activeCalendars property] What I'd recommend: 1. Verify the LDM was re-saved after enabling the fiscal calendar for your workspace — this is a required step for the changes to take effect. [Customize Calendars] 2. Since this is an Experimental feature, the fiscal tab in visualization-level filters may not yet be available in all parts of the UI. You may want to contact GoodData support to confirm whether this is a known limitation of the current experimental release. I'm sorry, but the knowledge sources do not contain enough detail to confirm whether the fiscal tab in the Analytical Designer visualization filter is expected to work at this stage of the experimental rollout. 👍 0 button 👎 0 button ℹ️ Tip: Mention @kapa.ai in the thread for follow-ups. 👀 Our Support team monitors all messages and will jump in if needed.

We will check what is the expected behavior and get back to you with this.
I believe this should be working. Could you please provide a link to the dashboard where this is being used?

Hi Pouyan, Thank you for this information. This indeed looks as a bug. I have already opened an engineering ticket and we will let you know once we have any update on the fix. Please stay tuned and apologies for the inconvenience.
p
thank you

Hi Pouyan, While we are waiting for a fix on this bug, there may be a workaround you can try to enable it in the AD. If you enable the granularities for each date dataset, it should show up in the AD. Could you give this a try and let us know if it helps?
Hi Pouyan, I justed wanted to follow up with you here and see if you were able to apply the workaround for this case. Please let us know if enabling the granularities for each date dataset helps.

Hey Sorry i missed this ill try. is there a place i can get an update on the fix when its released?
s
Hi Pouyan, Sure, you can stay updated with the product changes and fixes by following our release notes. https://www.gooddata.ai/docs/cloud/whats-new-cloud This page is regularly updated with the latest information about our product updates, including any fixes that have been released. Please check this page regularly to stay informed.

thanks, i tried the work around, we are trying to apply those as filter specially in the dashboards so would have to wait for the bug fix. is there a timeline on its fix by any chance?
j
Hi Pouyan, I have asked about possible ETA in the related engineering ticket. I'll let you know once I have any info.
p
thank you
j
Hi Pouyan, Can you please try to set the fiscal date fields in the LDM as well? The setting itself is not enough, you need to also enable it in the LDM on the date dataset:
we might amend the behavior in future that this step will happen automatically in the future but for now it needs to be set manually. Please let me know if this helped.
p
we are doing it per child workspace as each workspace can have its own config, however it looks like i can only edit the LDM from the parent workspace. i think for that reason i don't see fiscal month etc there in the options:
j
Hi Pouyan, you need to do this LDM setting in your parent workspace (don't forget to re-save the LDM after the change is done). And then you can enable/disable fiscal calendar in workspace setting for individual child workspaces:

still broken

Hi Pouyan, I've reviewed your workspace using our admin access and found the following: Your visualization is referencing the "business_date" dataset, which currently has the fiscal date fields disabled. Could you please enable them in your parent workspace as well, save the updated LDM settings, and then check your dashboard again? Additionally, I noticed an existing warning on that dataset. I'd recommend resolving it to prevent any potential issues down the line. Please let us know if this helps!

@Shamil Akhmadyshev thanks for the reply, that seemed to have worked, however i don't seem to find the fiscal month in the options even tho i enabled it. also as per the docs fiscal week is not supported for this feature, is it in the road map?
j
Hi Pouyan, Fiscal month is represented as Fiscal Period in the UI, so you should see values such as P01, P02, etc. rather than a separate “Fiscal Month” option. Regarding fiscal weeks, you are correct that they are not supported by the current fiscal calendar functionality. Broader custom fiscal calendar support, including calendar models such as 4-4-5 / 4-5-4, is on our roadmap, but I do not have a confirmed ETA or exact scope to share at this point.
