Hey folks - for whatever reason, it seems like the usage analytics for us are incorrect. We've got a workspace that shows no usage for the last 30 days, and trying to dig into this because it's essential for us to show value/usage and communicating it to stakeholders.

It’s possible that what you’re seeing is a data issue in GoodData’s Usage Analytics rather than truly “no usage” in that workspace. From the knowledge sources: • GoodData does record and expose usage stats (dashboard/workspace usage) via telemetry and Usage Analytics. [Usage stats docs] • There have been cases where Usage Analytics data was missing or incomplete due to internal telemetry/dataload problems; GoodData Support then investigated and backfilled the missing data. [Usage Analytics gap; Telemetry export stuck] Because I can’t see your environment, I can’t confirm whether your “no usage for 30 days” is real or caused by a telemetry/Usage Analytics issue. To get a definitive answer and, if needed, a backfill: 1. Open a ticket with GoodData Support at https://support.gooddata.com. 2. In the ticket, specify: ◦ That this concerns Usage Analytics. ◦ The workspace ID/title that shows no usage. ◦ The exact date range (e.g., “last 30 days, from X to Y”). ◦ Evidence that there was activity (e.g., users accessing dashboards) even though Usage Analytics shows none. 3. Mention that similar issues were previously resolved by checking telemetry/Usage Analytics pipelines and backfilling missing data. [Usage Analytics gap; Telemetry export stuck] If you share with Support which specific Usage Analytics dashboards/insights you’re using (e.g., active users, dashboard executions) and some example users/dashboards that should appear, they can verify whether this is a data gap and correct it. 👍 0 button 👎 0 button ℹ️ Tip: Mention @kapa.ai in the thread for follow-ups. 👀 Our Support team monitors all messages and will jump in if needed.

Hi Ryan, thank you for this. Let me have a look your Usage Analytics workspace. Just to be sure, can you please share by dm the workspaceId you are referring?
Hi Ryan, thank you for sharing the workspaceId. I have been checking and for that specific workspace I can see some executions, can you confirm please, in which dashboard or Insight on your Usage Analytics you are looking? Additionally, which fact/metric are you looking and expecting some usage?
Thank you for your time. After checking, I noticed that the provided workspace has not had any executions for object types Dashboard and Visualization in the last month; the most recent one was on March 24, 2025. However, for the object type Workspace, there have been several executions, with the most recent occurring last Friday. Can you confirm if this is not what you expected? I have saved an Insight called 'TestGDSupport.' Could you please double-check it?

Hi Ryan, can you please clarify for us you’re using using GoodData “usage analytics” exactly? You’re using it through the UI directly, embedded, via SDK, etc? From what we can see so far, you appear to be executing visualizations that aren’t present in metadata, which typically suggests some form of SDK-driven usage? If you could please clarify this fous - that would be a great help. Thank you!

@Michael Ullock Thanks for the reply; yeah we're looking for usage of the web UI itself, to see who's logging in, refreshing dashboards etc. @Mauricio Cabezas I'll check that viz today and will get back to you.

Hello Ryan, I was wondering if you have an update on this. Additionally, I would like to clarify a question made by my colleague, we are actually interested to know about you are using your GD instance (not usage) related to the workspace you are interested in.
r
Sorry about the delays; I think the widget looks good and I'm working on it. We aren't doing any SDK driven usage, which is weird that we're getting that happening in the back end. We're running everything in Web UI, so curious how that might be flagging.
m
Hi Ryan, to clarify... now the GD usage analytics for you is working and showing the expected data?
r
As far as I can tell; it looks closer to correct. Just hard to tell when we're trying to check on user behaviour and unable to verify any other way

Thanks for getting back to us - Please feel free to review this further, and if something seems off, please provide more details and we can consult this with our GoodSuccess team for you

Hi @Ryan Peters, as we discussed internally, seems all right. Thank you for the updates.
