Hi, if someone's available to help me understand downloading full datasets, that would be great -- discussion is here: https://gooddataconnect.slack.com/archives/C01P7PBJFLH/p1742343035338059

Hi Kurt, my apologies I missed your last update in the above thread. We do not support downloading full datasets in from the UI in this way. However, a user can go to Analytical Designer and create report there and you can download all the data from the dataset there if you would like to extract any data.

Ok, but as I mentioned I can't figure out the permissions needed to make this happen. I have a user with View + Analyze access to the workspace, and with whom the dashboard is shared with View & Share rights (and they're correctly seeing only what they should via WDF). On the visualization they can click on "Explore More" and see it in edit mode, but the Export CSV option only delivers the totals used for the visualization. If they click on Analyze at the top, and seem to start a new visualization, the Export option says 'not enabled'. When you say go to Analytical Designer, I'm not sure if you're referring to the steps I just mentioned, or if this is something else that I haven't been able to find. What are the exact steps to let them download all the data they've been given permissions to in this situation, ie. every row and column used to calculate those totals? thanks
m
From the “Explore More” option, it will only open the same visualisation / report which will inherit the settings and filters from the dashboard. However, they can remove all the filter from that point and will be able to export any version of that same report that they want to create for exporting. Again, as I mentioned previously, we do not support downloading full datasets in from the UI. But a user can click on Analyze / Analytical Designer and drag and attributes and facts into a report and then they can download any data require and have access to from there
k
Ok, but even from a report it seems the only Export is the totals, not even all the columns and rows behind those totals, is that correct?
m
That’s correct - it will always show the totals. Once again, we do not support the functionality where a user can download full datasets / all data that they have access to within the workspace in this way.
