Also, regarding creating/assigning a user data filter…If I have a parent workspace and a child workspace that inherits all of the dashboards from the parent workspace, and I have a user who is only able to access the child workspace which is embedded in our app….Does it matter which workspace I create the user data filter in? My thinking is that I might as well just create the UDF in the parent workspace. In my testing, this seems to properly filter the child workspace data in addition to the parent workspace data.

Hi Michael, the UDF is set on specific Users or User Groups in specific Workspaces. The UDF defines what subset of the data in a workspace will be available for the User or User Group . So if you put the UDF in the parent workspace it will then propagate to the child workspace because filters for individual users are inherited from all user groups that the user is a member of throughout the workspace hierarchy.
