@Natalia Nanistova In a dashboard from our Good Data web UI I see the Schedule export option in the dropdown, however when I click the same dropdown on an iframe embed of the dashboard I do not see a Schedule export option. Is this expected? We need to be able to schedule exports from iframe embeds to use this feature, otherwise it is not something we can use. Please advise.

Thanks for raising this, @Adam Steele. Tagging in someone who can help you out -- @Lukas Ther.

Hi @Adam Steele, both Alerts and Scheduled Exports support iframe embedding. To create either, you first need to set up the destination for automations, such as email. You can find the documentation here. Let me know if that helped. Thanks!

@Lukas Ther I set up a destination as part of my original message and after doing so Alerts show up in the dropdown but Scheduled exports do not (iframe case). I tested this with both the default destination and a custom one and got the same result. However when I add a destination and check the good data web app UI then Scheduled exports does properly show in the dropdown.
@Lukas Ther I just figured it out. I had recently made a new user and noticed that you all changed the UI for adding workspace permissions. I hadn't realized this up until today when I created a new user. Turns out you guys didn't auto add the permission
Alerts and scheduled reports
to existing users, which I guess makes sense but the downside is you didn't think to tell me I needed to turn this on for all existing users and it wasn't in your demo video for this feature so I never thought to look here. @Greta Brauer However, now that I am testing it out, I am noticing that you can't add a custom email address as the recipient "To" field and you have to pick from the user list. This requirement makes the feature useless for us since we have it totally embedded and the "user" is a dummy user. We would need the ability to add any email address in that field to use this feature at all. Can this be changed? Thanks.

Hello @Adam Steele, thank you for your feedback. Indeed, additional workspace permissions are required to utilize this feature. We believe that this flexibility provides you with further opportunities, such as the monetization of these features. Regarding support for external recipients (using email), this is something our team is working on and should be delivered soon. Currently, you can only select recipients who are members of the workspace. Hope that helps clarify this limitation.

Thanks. Looking forward to external recipients so we can launch this feature to our users
I also noticed that the scheduled emails include a link to the dashboard that is a hardcoded URL. This is useless and confusing for our customers since they only interact with GoodData via iframe embedding, so that link takes them to a URL that they can't access. Ideally we would like to be able to remove that button and link in the emails.

Hi @Adam Steele, thank you for your feedback. At the moment we do not support customizing the template, while that is something we will be considering for later improvements. However, we are aware of this problem for embedded users cases. According to our research, the need to go to live version of the dashboard from email notification is important. So, instead of completely hiding the URL, we give you the option to customize the URL reference. In the
Destinations
configuration, there is an option to provide a
Custom dashboard link
, so that the button goes to the page where the dashboard is embedded, instead of going to the organization’s default location. Example: Instead of going to
<https://organization.cloud.gooddata.com/>...
, you can change the setting to go to your application. so it can be something like
<https://www.outfiled.com/analytics/dashobard/123/>
.
Here is the relevant configuration in our documentation. Would this satisfy your use case or would the hiding the links completely be important for you?
a
Thanks. That will help
