Sorting a table by more than one column? is that really a no? The table visual is really under-developed - is it any closer to getting some more features?
maybe the problem is you don’t have a separate table and pivot table visual like in some other tools? I’m really missing not having more formatting options for how to display data in a table.

Hi Jamie, you can find details on Pivot tables here: https://www.gooddata.com/docs/cloud/create-visualizations/visualization-types/pivot-tables/ Regarding the formatting options, for the Font, it can only be changed via a Custom Theme, which is defined for the whole workspace. So while you cannot make only a table’s font Bold, you can Customize the Theme's Properties so that the entire workspace uses a different font, including Bold options. Unfortunately, the Size of the table’s font cannot be increased. To add colors to the table, both for the text and for the cells’ background. That is done via Number Formatting. Those are the out-of-the-box available customization options for the Pivot Table; Anything extra can be achieved via the GoodData.UI SDK, by developing custom styles for the component on an App. So with regards to the table visual is really under-developed - and is it any closer to getting some more features. Can you please tell us what you would like to see there and we will be happy to mark this as “product feedback” on your behalf.

@Michael Ullock I think just doing a comparison with tools like Power BI and Quicksight would be a good starting point. You have quite limited options for making a table display information. The things that I particularly notice are • Formatting headers ◦ text colour, font, background, size etc ◦ but also wrapping and resizing text. currently if I want to use a 50 character description for the header of the column it forces the column to be 50 characters wide instead of being able to make the header height taller and have the header text wrap within that. • Sort order needs to be more flexible than just sorting by one column. There are heaps of examples where I would want to sort by col A and then within that by column B. • Good to know that conditional formatting can be used to hack around the limitations of colouring cells but that shouldn’t be necessary. It is pretty standard to give users the options to colour cells, headers etc as you please. Perhaps there is a general lack of understanding of how often analysts use reports to just make information accessible to users. Not everything in a report is going to be an insightful visual - sometimes users just need to get access to information so having a decent table visual seems like an essential to me.
