Is it possble to host GoodData on our installations and connect to our sqlserver instance, also on premises? If so, is there any sample how to do this?

Hi Joaquim. I’d recommend looking into GoodData.CN -> https://www.gooddata.com/developers/cloud-native/

Hi @Joaquim Nunes, what kind of database would you like to connect it to? Is it specifically MS SQL Server or some other database? Thank you.

It´s a policy of the company maintain our own DataCenter. We have plans to begin migrating some services in 2 year time, but for now it is our reality. At this stage, all the analitics that we are going to do will be consumed internally, so our universe of potencial users are somewhat limited. Also, we use only SQLServer as our database platform. I already looked in the documentation and SQLServer is not supported, but I also have seen some people saying that they made it to connect and use this database. I would like to know if we can host GoodData internally and use it as described above.

The way of connecting SQLServer to GD.CN would be by way of a data source manager. GoodData.CN can work with following DSMs: • Apache Drill • Dremio This is documented under https://www.gooddata.com/developers/cloud-native/doc/1.7/administration/add-data-sources/data-source-managers/. Unfortunately, a direct connection between GD.CN and SQLServer is not officially supported.
