Time Dimension in Analytical Designer (GoodData.CN)
Time Dimension in Analytical Designer in GoodData.CNTime is a useful entity for data analysis and is one of the most frequently used dimensions on dashboards. Sometimes you may want to compare the numbers in different periods. GoodData’s Analytics Designer (AD) provides an effective and easy-to-use UI to segment the fact(s) and/or metric(s) with various time dimensions in an insight or dashboard. In this article, we are going to show you how to utilize the time dimension in GoodData.CN’s AD.GoodData.CN AD allows you to segment the fact(s) and/or metric(s) with the following dimensions (As of Version 1.3.0):Minute Minute in Hour Hour Hour in Day Day Day of Month Day of Week Day of Year Week Week of Year Month Month of Year Quarter Quarter of Year YearIt is easier to demonstrate the functionality with an example; let’s pretend we are analyzing the statistics of departure flights in an airport. Our dataset has Flight ID, departure time with date and time, destination, gate, and the aircr
Incorrect filtering of running sums
Hi! I’m facing following problemWhen I choose Sum in measures and set date filter to All time, I get these data When I set data filter to This year I get the same data but filtered by year 2021. And it looks right. When I choose Running sum in measures and set date filter to All time, I get running sums groupped by years. It’s still right When I try to filter running sums by This year I expect to get running sum filtererd by ths year, in this expample - 1327. But I get the Sum (not Running sum) - 51. Is there a way to get what I expect?
Failed to return data
Good Morning! In the last few days when opening a Dashboard the data is loading infinitely, or taking too long to load. This problem didn't happen before, could you tell me if it's something on the AWS servers or would it be a local issue?I performed internet connection test and everything is stable
Bar chart sort order
Can I control the sort order of bars in a bar chart? The default sort order sorts by magnitude, which is good for many situations, except when there is a natural semantical sequence of values, such as state transitions, and showing them out of their natural order is not desirable.
Filters and metrics
Hi everyone! I have a question about a report which contains two attributes and three metrics. I have some filters in the Dashboard but I need that those filters apllies only on two of the three metrics. Is anything I can do with the metric editor in order to achieve that? Thanks in advance :)
Linking between reports with saved filter
Hi! I’m looking for a suggestion on how to move between two reports without a need to manually apply a filter on each. This is about a dashboard in pixel perfect UI.We have a dashboard with two reports. One report is of Overview type and shows a list of clients per country, the second report gives Detailed View of the data per client. The type of intuitive user experience we would like to achieve is for a user to be able to click on a client name in the Overview report and be redirected to the Detailed View report with a filter for this specific client applied.I know this exact behaviour is not possible, but is there anything that comes to mind to make navigation between these 2 reports intuitive and minimise the need to manually apply a filter in the Detailed View report? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
Metric threshold alert
Hi there. I hope that somebody can help me with my situation. Some KPI dashboards I have are actually important only in case some metrics are bellow a threshold. I have to always check the dashboard or e-mail I get. Is it possible to be somehow notified based on a value of a metric? If it is not possible, it would be really helpful and it should be added into the product! Thank you, Mia
Do Drill Across Reports constrain by dashboard timeline dimension?
I have a headline stat drilling into a separate report showing table data for that stat. Headline Stat: # of WidgetsFilterable by in Dashboard:Widget Category Date (Timeline) App Store StatusDrills into a report showing: Widget Name, Widget Developer, Widget Description, Date (Submitted) Actual Behavior: The drill into report is filtered correctly by widget category but NOT by the timeline filter. It’s showing Widget info across all submission dates. The headline stat for my applied dashboard filters is showing 7 Widgets, however the drill in report is showing a much larger group. Expected Behavior: I want the dashboard filters including the timeline dimension to apply to the Drill Across report. I cannot change the drill-in report to display based on Date (Timeline) (the report says it’s not available for the data I selected).
Can I Filter The Entire Dashboard Based on a Click
I know I can add filters to the entire dashboard, but some BI tools have the ability to click on one widget in a dashboard, and filter all other widgets based on that interaction. For example if I had a donut chart with different categories displayed, I could click on that to show only those categories across the entire dashboard. Is this possible? Or would I only be able to do it using GoodData.UI?
