Hi Gooddata,We faced with a dashboard/insight creation bug in a child workspace (Gooddata.CN 1.7). We created a simple parent-child structure with data filtering (column filtered by a value) and have dashboards/insights in the parent and those works well with filtered data:parent child child child Unfortunately, when you choose a child workspace (even if you’re an admin or user with ANALYZE permission) and try to add a new dashboard then drag&drop an insight from the “New Item” on the left then the screen below appears for 1 sec after it disappears and the parent workspace will be loaded into some kind of embedded window. You can do this multiple times and there will be more and more embedded windows there and you couldn’t go back just with a full page reload. Images attached. We haven’t found any error messages neither on backend and frontend. Could you please investigate this bug? ThanksZoltan
Can the following two insights be created out of the box while using GoodSuccess Tracking?- Is it possible to have a chart that shows me which insight was created by whom (independent of being shared with others)?- Is it possible to create User Groups to track the usage of GoodData per specific department? Example would be Employee A works in Finance whereas Employee B works in Sales —> I might only be interested in the activity of the finance employee. Is there a way to classify our invited users in such a way for further analysis? Thanks in advance! Best regards,Felix
Would it be possible to create a button that, when clicked, would send the user to the screen II tab? This feature already exists when we build a report in table format. but I would like to know if there would be a way to create a button to direct the user. There is a tool available at https://s3.amazonaws.com/gd-images.gooddata.com/customtext/embed.html however it does not have this feature.
Data Permissions If you want to restrict the access of your data in a workspace, to some of your users then you can use data permissions. The data permissions are set based on values of the attribute. Think of that, you want to create a report to display the invoice item quantity and the sum of prices on country and product basis. And you want to restrict the display of invoice item data based on the user's country. The users will be able to see invoice items only corresponding to their country to achieve confidentiality. Then the report should filter the data based on the attribute value of the Country attribute. The data permissions are hidden from the user, the user does not know that the data is filtered and can not change the data permission. The value of the attribute corresponding to that user, is passed as a hidden parameter with each query to the database. And the data permission is applied to all of the workspace. In order to understand data permissions better we can give an
Hi GoodData,I’ve seen a topic about the multi-layered caching system of the GoodData here. My question would be that how can we force cache invalidation via API, Helm chart options or anything (we’re using “on-premise” GoodData.CN)? Imagine that we would have daily/hourly ETL jobs so we would like to have the dashboards up-to-date after the ETL processes are done. What is the recommended solution for this? ThanksZoltan
Hello,We have a problem probably with a numerical orders. For one of the datasets, the value reached 12086075,0816709 in the database. In the data model, the column is defined as decimal (12.2). Therefore, the value in the dashboards should be displayed as 12086075,08 without any problems, and we still have a reserve of two orders (__12086075,08). However, for unexplained reasons, the number 1 is displayed in the dashboard, when I hover over the number, the value 1.21 is displayed in the pop-up little window. Other numbers for a different products in same table of the dashboard are right (their value is smaller then 10M). Is there a solution on our or your side? I tried to change the rounding and datatype in GD in a various ways, but it didn't help. Many thanks.
Is it possible to have a field visible on a dashboard or insight that allows updating of a variable without having to use the manage page?I have looked through the documentation and have seen it is possible to update variables using the API but was wondering if there is a way of doing this directly in a dashboard. Thanks in advance
I’ve created a geomap and when I go to a specific geographical point - I would like to certain attributes for that point. I have not figured out how to do that or even if its possible - can someone please point me to a resource that would explain the process.
I have a handful of metrics that I created that only work correctly in reports where variables/attributes are used, but if I include them in a headline report with no/minimal filtering, they are not calculating correctly. Here is an example of the MAQL code, and then 2 reports using this metric on the same dashboard with the same filters applied. One you can see is broken down using the variables and attributes and the other is not. The totals do not match up. The variables are both numerical values as well as filtered variables. Is there something I should be including in the MAQL that will allow the results to calculate according to the variables and attributes listed below without explicitly including those in a report?
Hi there,I'm facing a big problem that I’m not able to get the maximum of date group by at rows, my insight will break down by that date level.I want to get the most recent listing date of “Subdivision Name” and “Region Name”, example at Subdivision is ‘Crane Landing’ has “Most Recent Listing Date” = ‘02/21/2022’. Any ways to do this? Thanks for your help!
According https://support.gooddata.com/hc/en-us/articles/4411041867283-January-27-2022 new Dashboards create as Private. Our App use Embedded GoodData iframe also we use some API calls. How to use Share dashboard via Post-messages and/or API request(s)?
Hello teamI am currently trying to encrypting the message using PGPY library on python side so we can generate the claim for front end to use to integrate dashboard through pgp SSO. However I am stuck at the `sign` stage , all the signed message seems not able to be decrypted on Gooddata side, error: The error message is Cannot decrypt SSO message from sso provider=pgp-test.polyai-test.<hidden> Invalid sessionIdError code='sso.decrypt'Request id='aN3MEuAqWGt8SSrK:woOj0utfTAwppYz4' Look like pgpy only support clearSign by looking at the source code. ( At least that’s what I think why Gooddata cannot decrypt it) I wonder if there is any suggestion on how to encrypt the message using python instead of using gnupg ? That will be super helpful ! Thanks so much
Hi there!I'm a non-data person scoping out GoodData for a service we're starting and planning to scale. It would involve being able to share data to different clients, with the core data structures being the same for each client. This data would mainly consist of the client's staff details and how many of our training sessions they're booking into and attending in the first instance. Ideally at some point we might want to tweak the exact visualisations shown to each client, but we'd never have differing structures/logical models. We would also be relying on manual upload of CSVs at the start.Initially the concept of multitenancy seemed to fit, but that seems to just be for non-CSV data sources. Is that right? From what I can see the only option this leaves for segmentation of data is data permissions. The implication through a lot of your documentation is that data permissions are a solution for different internal users (whereas for different external users you'd use different workspaces
Is it possible to customize the dashboard layout to allow more than two insights on one row? The dashboard editor is limiting to two per row. For my usecase, I am trying to have about half a dozen horizontal bar chart insights on one row, to show different slices of data all at once.
Hi team,I have copied 3 dashboards between 2 workspaces. After importing the dashboards to the target project, 3 other similar dashboards in the target project disappeared. I cannot see them anymore, but the 3 new dashboards are there. I copied 3 dashboards from this project: havcd723mmm69cs5ujz6d9k4a7ce8 - to this project: audcfba5qtg8k3o8bheiln8p0zdfetqv3. Now in the destination project audcfba5qtg8k3o8bheiln8p0zdfetqv3 the 3 other dashboards are not visible anymore. I have also checked grey pages and I cannot see them there either. Can you please help me to understand why I can no longer see those dashboards?Thank you!
Hiya,I’m trying to create a dashboard and I want viewers to be able to use filters including one filter on a measure. However, it seems that measure filters are only available at the insight level, so cannot be used by viewers. I could change the field I want to filter on to be an attribute I suppose, but this would mean I can’t use it as a measure in other reports. Is it possible for the field to be a both a fact and an attribute? Is there another way to get around this? Am I missing something fundamental? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks, Gabriel
